The Web Project Editor (WPE) is your “right hand person” in developing, creating, uploading, and maintaining your site. He/She will work with you, side-by-side (and behind the scenes) to get your site up and going, populated, and running smoothly.

At any time, you can feel free to contact your WPE with suggestions, ideas, or questions about how your site might be enhanced to grow with your changing needs.

Services performed by your WPE:

Site Design and Planning
Your Web Project Editor will provide essentially an “editorial to do list” with deadlines to get your site up and running. He/she will then work with you to upload content and make web design related decisions, such as what the design looks and interlinking functions.

Site Creation
With Great River Technologies, you don’t need to know how to be a “web master” to create an online course. We can do all of the work for you, so you can focus on your area of expertise—educating others.

The Web Project Editor is your partner in creating your course site and making it “live.”

He/she will work side-by-side with you to create and populate the site as well as explore all possible functionality. Working with your WPE can greatly speed up the delivery of your completed site. We provide you with the tools you can use to educate your learners.

Copy Editing
Copy editing services for your original work is available through your Web Project Editor to guarantee that you are delivering the professional level of content you expect on your course site.

Permissions Clearance
Another service your Web Project Editor provides is obtaining permission to use copyrighted material on your course site and negotiating a usage fee, if applicable.

GRT will not post copyrighted materials unless we have written permission from the information owner / author.

Learning Object Creation
Learning Objects—interactive, electronic diagrams, charts, or animations—are a dynamic tool for learning processes.

Your Web Project Editor has the ability and resources to create a Learning Object to accompany your online course, and also has access to a central repository with additional Learning Objects for your use as well.

Content Preview
When your site is ready, your Web Project Editor will take you on a step-by-step tour. She/he will teach you how to make the most of its functionality and also allow you to review the entire site prior to “going live” to your students. Your feedback is important—we will continue to enhance or modify the site until it meets your specific needs.

Site Maintenance
Web Project Editors continually check your site to guarantee complete functionality. Routine maintenance is done to your site each academic term to make sure all software, functionality, and information is kept up to date.
